Bereaved parents of stillborn baby attend Warrington Lights of Love service

A grieving couple from Manchester lit a candle for their stillborn baby girl during an annual Lights of Love service.

The ceremony organised by Sands, a stillborn and neonatal death charity, took place at the Methodist Church in Warrington on December 4.

Vanessa Ellis, 31, and her partner Tim Fletcher, 32, attended the event after they said goodbye to their baby Grace just over six weeks ago.

Children fly on festive Flight of Dreams

Over 130 children from disadvantaged backgrounds across Greater Manchester were given the opportunity to board an unforgettable flight across the UK.

The Flight of Dreams, organised by the charity Cash for Kids, took off from Manchester airport on December 7, 2015, in a search for a special VIP passenger in the sky on his sleigh.

I joined the flight and spoke to a family from Macclesfield, who benefited from the experience.

Paris attacks: Manchester couple caught up in carnage won’t rule out return

A young couple from Manchester who were at the Stade de France when terrorists attacked said they would not rule out travelling to Paris again.

I spoke to 22-year-old Dominic McGregor about whether witnessing the attacks has affected his confidence travelling to major cities, after bookings for travel to Paris over Christmas are 13 percent behind last year’s figures. 

I also interviewed a UK counter terrorism supervisor who gave his advice to Britons travelling to Paris and other cities over the festive season.

Disney on Ice 2015

Disney on Ice warmed everyone’s hearts as it made its way to the ice rink at the Manchester Arena in October 2015.

Fans were treated to some Disney favourites such as Mickey and Mouse and his gang, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid, as well as more recent phenomenons like Frozen and Cars.

The show was part of Disney on Ice’s Worlds of Enchantment tour.
