Figures have shown that one in three children live in poverty.
Every year Key103’s in-house charity Cash for Kids launches its Mission Christmas appeal to help thousands of disadvantaged children in Manchester.
The aim of the compaign is to collect as many new or unwrapped gifts as possible that will help Santa deliver presents to children who have nothing to open on Christmas morning.
Over 1.5 million toys and cash was raised in 2014.
Here’s my interview with Russell Feingold, charity manager of Cash For Kids, on the penultimate day of the Mission Christmas project. He was unloading all the presents at a warehouse in Manchester before they were delivered to families.
I also spoke to the people of Manchester as they arrived at the warehouse to donate gifts…
I was a runner during the big reveal of the total amount raised on the 19 December. Please see Key103’s video of the best bits of Mission Christmas 2014.
