Fans of Coronation Street could set foot on the cobbles after the soap launched its public tours in April 2014.
The new tourist attraction was opened by the programme’s most notorious serial killer Richard Hillman, who returned to Gail’s flat.
The old Corrie set at Granada Studios was intended to be reopened to the public for just six months, after the cast and crew moved to their new home at MediaCityUK.
They then remained open for another year because of their popularity but are soon due to close on January 1 2016.
I reported from the cobbles on the day the tours were launched.
